Hélène Munier-Lehmann was trained as a chemist (ENSCP Engineer) and she obtained her Ph.D. in Biochemistry. After a postdoc at the EMBL in Heidelberg, she joined the Institut Pasteur. One important aspect of her work is to use the screening platform she has set up at the Institut Pasteur to identify research tools or chemical starting points for therapeutic applications, in particular broad- spectrum antiviral molecules and an unsuspected link between pyrimidine biosynthesis and the innate antiviral response.
